What is Celebration? Celebration Women’s Ministry at Longview’s First United Methodist Church was chartered February 2004 as an “official” women’s ministry. This growing ministry is organized by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and is related to the United Methodist Church through the Committee on Devotional Life of the Texas Annual Conference and is open to all women regardless of denomination, cultural or ethnic heritage. Celebration focuses in on three faith needs we feel all women have: PRAYER, BIBLE STUDY, and ENCOURAGING SPEAKERS. Through our relationships, we enjoy fellowship, fun, retreats and workshops, discipleship and mentoring one another in the Christian faith. It is our prayer that this ministry’s impact might include SALVATION, HEALING and EQUIPPING of women.
How do we plan to continue to equip, develop and encourage the women? By continuing to pray, meet, plan, and serve the Lord as we attempt to share the gospel with others.
As our calling to minister, we claim Luke 4:18-19, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”Who leads the local Celebration chapter?

For women’s gifts and talents to be used.
Finances to be supplied to meet all the needs of Celebration Chapters and Conference for now and in the future as the ministry grows.
