Free in 2003!  It's all about TRUST!

January is a time of reflection on past year and looking ahead to the new year.  We consider what was accomplished in our personal lives as well as looking at the world we live in . . . wars and rumors of wars, economy, health and family issues.   We also like to make new choices at the beginning of the year.  Lose 10 pounds, exercise, stick to a budget, spend more time with the Lord and quality time with our family and friends!  But...if we don't break old habit patterns and ways of doing things, we fall back into the same "rut" we were in last year.

Hebrews 12:1-2 remind us to " . . . let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,".  It is only through His power working in our lives that we can be set free.  We just have to be willing and obedient.  Trust Him!

My favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6.  "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct your paths.

In my prayer time six months ago, I made would say "I trust you Lord for this day."  It has been amazing to see each day unfold with His plan for my day.  Many times it was what I had planned but other times my day would take a completely different path.  The result has always been a profitable, blessed day.  Striving, struggling and fear are going!  Trust Him!

In 2003, I'm purposing to put my day in Jesus hands and TRUST Him for every area of my life--one day at a time!

I pray you will trust Jesus and daily walk with Him!

Much love,
Judy

Sugar Land News

Sugar Land's Celebration November 2 proved to be another display of God's amazing love as Rachel Norris demonstrated the potter's wheel touching every heart present.

Rachel has a unique gift and continues to be a great instrument of God each time she gives her testimony.  We were all mesmerized  and felt this was the best Celebration yet.  Our time of praise and worship led by Karen Clark was absolutely glorious.  There were 125 ladies in attendance and about 15 who had never been to a Celebration before!  Most were from our church this time--whereas in the past we have had less church members and more from the outside.  I am thrilled and thanking God that so many from our church are now knowing how God is using Celebration to heal and revive the hearts of women in the Methodist Church.

Foundry UMC Celebration Report

Foundry UMC Celebration reports on their November 9, 2002, meeting.  Everyone was truly blessed by the word of God, our praise team, and by Kim Orr. Our scripture reading was Ephesians 1:15-23 of Thanksgiving and Prayer. Kim encourage us to step out and not to be afraid to have a deeper inner relationship with God.  We broke up into small groups and read a paraphrase of Ephesians 3:14-21 and then discuss the paraphrase. We had a number of women who came forwarded during the call for prayer.  The food was delicious!  Thanks to the food committee.

Foundry UMC's Celebration next gathering will be March 29, 2003 with Rachael Norris as the speaker!  For more information contact Pat Praesel at (281) 463-7486 or email gprae63221@aol.com

Leadership Training News

We had Leadership Training for Mission Bend on Oct. 19. There were 9 women in attendance and after a good time of training and praying together, we ended with their chartering ceremony. What a joy!! Another new chapter started!

Our Presidents’ Retreat is scheduled for January 10, 11 at Hidden Manna. We are looking forward to this time together with these dedicated women. Our hope is that they will come away refreshed and renewed. Please encourage your President to come!

We are also excited about the Leadership Retreat on February 22. We will be taking the Conference Leadership Team to First Methodist, Marshall to do a time of training for Board Officers and Ministry Team Leaders. Our theme is "Empowered to Serve" and we plan on a great day together (9:00AM -3:30 PM)! We will have praise and worship, inspirational speakers, and workshops. The cost for all this is only $15.00 (including lunch)! We hope that those of you in the Northern area of the state will take advantage of this event being offered closer to home for you! You can register for this by emailing at clmasterson@houston.rr.com or writing to Cindy Masterson, 6154 Del Monte, Houston, TX. 77057 and sending your name, address, phone number, and check!

These events are very important as we seek to grow in the leadership areas that God has called us to. We will offer a Leadership Retreat near the Houston area in August. If you are on a local Celebration Board or are a Team Ministry Leader, please plan to attend one of our training events this year.
