A
Message
from the President...
Dear
Celebration Sisters:
We are so
thankful that the Spirit of the Lord is upon Celebration.
Every Celebration Event you attend, whether it is your Chapter Event, a
Conference Luncheon, Information Meeting, Leadership Training, or Retreat, come
expecting to meet the Lord and receive from Him. He has promised to bring salvation, healing and equipping to
His daughters through Celebration.
For those of you
who have been praying about starting Celebration at your church, we have good
news! A 9 minute video has been
prepared that will explain the heart of the ministry.
You can invite the women of your church to a coffee and share Celebration
with them. You’ll tap your foot
to the song, "Let’s Celebrate," written especially for this video.
As we are
approaching the holidays, we pray God’s richest blessing on you and your
family. We are reminded to thank
God for all He has done for us at Thanksgiving.
At Christmas, we remember that God sent Jesus to us, Immanuel—God with
us. God is with you, in
you and for you! He loves
you! Ask Him for a special gift for
you. He knows just what you need!
Much
love,
Judy C. Graham

God certainly showed His
Glory on Friday, October 3, 2003! I
love it when God shows up and shows off!!!
I thank each of the volunteers
and the leadership team for going above and beyond and being the hands and feet

not been successful without each servant submitting to Christ’s authority –
I thank you and thank God!

Number of churches

Number of Celebration
Chapters represented: 20

Even
more powerful than the numbers are the testimonies – here is just a few:
“Inspired
me to be more wiling to jump out of the boat for Him!”
“To
feel the power of the Holy Spirit in and around me is
always a wondrous experience. It
was a true blessing to be here in unity of one mind and accord.
Praise God for this ministry…”
“…this conference

“This was an awesome

“He has shown

“My heart, my soul, my
mind and ears have been inspired again and again by the Word.”
“I have been so
incredibly blessed by seeing such a great number of wonderful women here to
celebrate the life and love of Jesus
…”
“He has touched me and
my heart… I have strayed away from Him but today brought me back to
him.”
These are only a few
testimonies out of hundreds received – what more can I say; they speak for
themselves.

Many blessings and looking
forward to seeing you all on September 25, 2004!

Celebration
In Action - Chapelwood UMC
We
enjoyed a wonderful fall luncheon with guest speaker Jackie Greer on October 28.
Jackie is a 94-year-young Christian businesswoman and author of the book, Life
Always Begins. The day was highlighted by delicious food, praise and
worship with Nancy Fauber-Hoh, a time of prayer and a book signing in addition
to Jackie's inspiring message. The next Chapelwood Celebration event will
be held in February. Our board is being led by new president, Nancy
Pettiete, with great joy and enthusiasm. She can be reached at nap@pdq.net.

Bellaire
UMC hosted an Information Meeting with a delicious brunch on September 27, 2003.
In attendance were 65 women of all ages. The new president, Martha
Johnson, remarked, "We felt well-prepared for our event and found the
manual and the August leadership training very helpful. I can't say thank
you enough for all that you do at the conference level to promote this ministry
and to help individual chapters get started. You are definitely doing the
work of the Lord!" Bellaire's new chapter filled 50 seats at the Oct.
3rd Fall Luncheon. Martha Johnson can be reached at j_family@swbell.net or

Vidor First
United Methodist Church
Vidor First
United Methodist church held its first Celebration event on September 6th. We
had 19 ladies present. We were blessed with Judy
Graham from Houston as our speaker. She brought Beth Domingue and Janet Murray
with her. They are an awesome Praise team. We had such a wonderful and uplifting
time. We could feel God's presence completely. This started out to be our
introductory meeting, but it turned out to be our Chartering. Our ladies have
been praying for this to happen for over a year. God put everything into place
and we are running with His love. We want to share it with every lady
within our reach. We carry the love of God through our Celebration everywhere we
go. Nine of our ladies were able to attend the Beth Moore luncheon. God
has his plans, we all sat at different tables and each one came back with names
of more ladies that would like to join us at our events. President, Martha Kirk

FUMC Celebration will take place on November 1st. Sheila Smith will be our guest
speaker. Sheila is an Ordained Minister from the Mauriceville area. She and her
husband have several mobile homes on their acreage and let homeless single
families live there and they can share God's love with them. Sheila is a
wonderful speaker and she will keep you on the edge of your seat. Her talk will
be on YOU HAVE THE POWER... We will start at 10 am and end up around noon with a
soup lunch.
Come and bring a friend. If you would like to attend and do not have a sitter,
just call, we are blessed with someone to sit with the children.

Open Before Christmas! Wharton
Area Celebration will host a brunch Saturday, November 15, 9:30-12:00, at First
United Methodist Church, Wharton. Women are already being encouraged through our
publicity to make the first and foremost Christmas preparation a preparation of
the heart. Judy Graham’s teaching and scripture focus, Matthew 1:23b, will
invigorate us with the message of God’s powerful, constant love for us. “Immanuel, the Lord With Us”. For more

Celebration
in Action Sat. Sept. 20 at FUMC Pasadena
Outside the weather was cloudy, but inside, where around 100 women of all ages
gathered, the atmosphere was warm and glowing. At this recent Celebration
Event, women worshiped God in song and prayer, heard inspiring words and shared
joys and sorrows spoken and unspoken.
Rev. Cheryl Smith opened in prayer, followed by Brenda Myers who punctuated
announcements with her endearing humor. Madeline McKneely spoke of her
mission trip experiences in Honduras and her lasting impression of the
universality of Christ. Accompanying slides
showing scenery and mission workers alongside Hondurans in rebuilding, Bible
studies, Bible school, and worship enriched her words.
All present sat in rapt attention as Rev. Betsy Sutherland told her story with
humor, wit and humility. As she revealed how God had worked in her life
through ill health, she reminded us that God doesn't just tell us once what He
wants, He continually reassures us of His plan for our life.
She encouraged the women present saying, "God is a God of Life and desires
for us to live life to its fullest, to be real with God-cry out to Him, and He
will answer, and to submit and wait on the Lord." Submitted by
Loresa
Loftin, FUMC Pasadena Celebration
Correspondance Secretary.

Land had 45 women that were very blessed to attend the Celebration Annual
Luncheon. Everyone was overjoyed to experience that large gathering of women
coming together to praise God and hear Beth Moore. We left inspired and
motivated to move deeper into the Word and relationship with the Lord. Two of us
are praying about beginning a womens' Sunday School class focusing on salvation,
healing and equipping. Those that attended last years retreat were able to
promise the others that the luncheon was just a taste of what they would
experience if they attended next year's retreat. We are expecting to take home
the trophy again!

Your
sisters from FUMC Rosenberg
The Celebration Annual Fall Luncheon held October 3 in
Houston was an awesome experience for all that attended.
The ten women who represented our local chapter received more than food
for their bodies. Beth Moore, the featured speaker, brought a wonderful message
that fed our spirits as well.
Hungry for still more of Beth’s message, approximately
fifteen of our precious women at FUMC Rosenberg are currently enjoying our fall
Bible study, “To Live Is Christ”. Janet
Murray, Thursday nights, and Dawn Ullrich, Sunday afternoons, lead our
eleven-week study that concludes in November.
This is the time of the year that we traditionally
reflect on that for which we are thankful.
Here at FUMC Rosenberg, we are thankful for the
energetic, giving women who serve as our board of officers.
Pictured below, FUMC Rosenberg 2003 officers, these ladies make our
Celebration chapter an extra special place to worship!

Where do you start to thank our Conference Celebration
Board for their continuous support, equipping opportunities, and leadership by
example? Well, maybe by
inviting Board President and Co-founder Judy Graham to share the Celebration
message. Make plans to join us Saturday morning, December 13, at 10:00 am and
hear her exciting message! Contact Janet Murray at 281-342-8321, or Debbie

Introduction
of New Treasurer--Linda Weseloh
I’d
like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you as the new Treasurer
for the Celebration Conference Board. I am replacing Diane Whittington,
who has served faithfully for the past three years. Her expert work has
made my transition an easy one. Thank you Diane!! My blessings to
her as she continues her journey.
This opportunity comes to me at the perfect time. Thanks Tammy Gilts for
knowing that you were supposed to approach me about this!! I'm
grateful for the opportunity. A little about me...my background is in
Accounting and I have a BBA from Sam Houston State University. We won't
talk about when I graduated!! I worked in the natural gas industry for 15
years, then decided it was time to be a stay at home Mom to my 2 boys, David
(14) and Daniel (11). That was 8
years ago, and it was the best decision I have ever made!! In the
meantime, I've kept busy doing the things I love and continue to use my skills
and talents. I've been married to Charles for 16 years. He's an
Engineer for BP Solvay in Deer Park. Currently, I'm facilitating two
"Financial Peace University" classes at our church (FUMC-Pasadena).
We have about 30 families taking this life changing 13 week course--ask me about
it sometime! We are also involved in Boy Scouts, karate, piano...you know
the drill!! There hasn't been much time for T.V. and bon-bons.
I've only been a
part of this team for a short while, but have instantly recognized what an
amazing group of women I'll be teaming with God is good!! If you have
questions, or just want to say "hi", you can reach me at 281-487-6549
or drop me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you!
To our Pledge Partners:
I've made my first attempt at sending monthly and quarterly Pledge Partner
Reminders Many of you have requested to receive reminders, and the system
is up and running. You should have already received your statements.
You will see them improve over time as I learn to be a little more
creative!. I would love to receive feedback and suggestions from you!!
Would you prefer to receive a reminder by e-mail or do you prefer a
mailing? Is the statement clear and easy to understand? Let me hear from you!!
Tax Deductible Donations:
Until further notice, for "tax deductible" donations, please continue
to make your checks payable to Texas Annual Conference and note
“Celebration” in the memo line. Please mail your contributions and
pledges to me at: 4230 Stoney View Dr.; Pasadena, TX 77505. All
other checks that are "not deductible" should be made payable to Celebration.
We do have an account established and plan to use it exclusively once our
non-profit status is final.
To our Chapter Treasurers:
If you have not already done so, please drop me an e-mail at cjwswim@aol.com
so I'll have your e-mail address. Just a reminder, reports are due for
September along with your tithes. If you'd like, you may submit your
reports electronically in Excel or Word format. Tithe checks should
be made payable to Celebration and sent to my address.
Again, I'd love to hear from you with ideas and suggestions you may have.

Leadership news:
We have finished our updated manuals now! Many thanks to Susan Rozman for her
help with this project. We have also been busy training new chapter leadership
teams. What a joy it is to see God raise up women that He has called to
leadership, then equip them for what He has called them to do! What a joy to see
them "get out of the boat" and follow Him! We have several
events scheduled for you for 2004! Mark your calendars now for the "Empowered
to Share" Leadership Event for the southern part of the Conference,
Aug. 7 in the Houston area.
Presidents Retreat, Jan. 16, 17. This is an intimate time away for
chapter presidents to refresh and recharge for the new year. This overnight
retreat will be held at Camp Allen near Navasota. The cost is $75 and we are
encouraging local chapters to pay all or part of the fee for their presidents.
Presidents--be watching for your invitation in the mail!
"Empowered for Unity" Leadership Event for the northern part of
the Conference, Saturday, February 7. This will be held at FUMC, Hallsville
(near Longview) and is for all current chapter leadership teams and anyone
interested in serving in leadership in the future! We will have teaching,
worship, workshops, and time to share! (This will be a repeat of the Leadership
event offered in Houston earlier this summer.) To register, send $15.00 and your
completed form to Cindy Masterson, 6154 Del Monte, Houston, Tx
77057. Registration deadline is Jan. 26. For further information, contact me at

JOKE
This woman got on the
bus with 12 children, as the mother pulled up the
last straggling child the bus driver boomed out, "Hey! Lady!
Are all of these your children or are you taking them on a picnic?"
With a rather harassed look on her face the woman replied to the driver,
"Yes, these are all my children, and believe you me this is no
picnic!"
